Give to the Troops

The 2011 community project brought support for our troops overseas. Our generous patients and staff donated over 470 items for the men and women serving our country, as well as monetary donations. Our doctors matched the donations with tooth care kits. Many thanks, also, to our generous Patterson rep, Tom Wallace, who provided Listerine. We know the troops also enjoyed receiving the cards that the children made at the August Drive baseball game. Thanks to all who made this project a success.

Ronald McDonald House of Greenville

Our 2010 summer community service project was a great success. With your help, we collected over $1200, and this money will provide 155 nights of lodging for the families of sick children. We also collected a five gallon bucket of pop tabs. The Ronald McDonald House uses the money from recycling the pop tabs to raise much needed funds. Thank you for your support of this project, and congratulations to the 25 winners of free whitening from our raffle drawing.

Help us help them!

Ticket to Drive

In 2009 all summer long, our patients really pulled through with a canned food drive to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank. Patients brought in LOADS of canned goods during their visits (and some made a special trip to donate) helping to stock the shelves of a local food bank helping many people newly affected by job loss and hard times. In return, ten families who participated won "tickets to Drive" with game tickets to the local Drive game and a prize pack, chosen from monthly drawings. Thanks to all of our patients who made this year's community project such a huge success!

Breast Cancer Research Fund

Our 2008 community project came after another one of our own staff "family" was faced with breast cancer. Tying in our love our baseball, we wore pink baseball hats and pink shirts, terming it "Pink Hat Fridays." We asked our patients to participate by wearing anything pink on Fridays, and our doctors donated a percentage of the production for those patients to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. The project also included inviting over 200 patients and friends to join us at a local Drive game where the doctors donated the tickets and asked for free will donations to the fund. Appropriately, we wrapped things up after October's Breast Cancer Awareness month and made our donation of over $2500!!! When we team together, what a difference we can make!

St. Jude's Ranch

In 2006 we began efforts to assist St. Jude's Ranch for children homes for abused, abandoned and neglected children. There are three ranches in all, located in Texas and Nevada, providing a home-like atmosphere for children 9 months old through 18 years. The Campbell's company has offered to buy a new Dodge minivan for St. Judes' with every 1.5 million food labels that are returned to them. (8 vans have been purchased, so it IS possible!) We have collected nearly 1500 labels. We appreciate the many patients who have helped! For a list of accepted soup and food labels, please stop by either office or call us; we will happily mail or fax on to you. For more information on St. Jude's Ranch for children, visit their website at: www.stjudesranch.org. Thank you!!

Giving Back

DentistsOur staff and doctors believe in giving back to the community, and do so in many individual and group efforts. Our most recent contributions to our community have been in helping the Junior League Greenville Cancer patient Christmas bags project, by providing them with tooth care packages. We also supported their fundraising efforts with Oscar Night America. Rocky Creek Dental Care has recently donated to Westminster Presbyterian preschool, Christ Church Episcopal School, Concrete Primary School, and the Kiwanis Club of Greenville - Eastside.

February is Dental Health Month and a great opportunity to reach out to the children in schools. This year we visited Concrete Primary School, August Circle Elementary, and First Presbyterian Academy, educating them on dental care and nutrition. We have frequented Oakview and Pelham Road, as well, presenting on dental health and technology. We are also proud to have been sponsors for First Presbyterian Academy's fall festival. If you would like us to come to your school or group, please email us at rockycreekdental@yahoo.com with your contact information. Most schools include dental health in their kindergarten curriculum.
